Random Freakiness!

Why do all these random 'accidents' keep happening to me? Do I have some sort of magic power that allows me to make anything that would normally be safe to the rest of the world suddenly become dangerous? Actually wait....that would be a sweet super power to have if I could control it and use it for good ;)

OK, so I'm in the lab trying to figure out how early I can leave for the day without looking like a slacker and suddenly I feel my leg getting warm. I'm leaning on the benchtop and I was pretty sure that it would not start to warm up all by itself, so I check my pocket. It seems that the spare battery I keep in there (to make sure that I can always get my kelka fix whenever I need it) is hot. So I silently freak out and run out of the lab with it because I do not want to start a fire in the lab. The lab already stinks with fumes from the chemicals and I am pretty sure that any kind of spark would set off a fire, in this case the battery in my jeans. I don't want that kind of fire in my pants. I'm pretty sure that a battery won't suddenly spark, but then I have heard of a battery that got hot all by itself either.

Anyways, I get outside and set it on the pavement and walked away, in case it decided to explode and I checked up on it later. By then it had cooled down. I know not to put things that can start a fire in the bin, because I had once set our dustbin at home on fire. Granted I was playing with a match at the time and left it lit for too long and it was either throw it in the bin or I burn my hand, and I had chosen the bin then.

I am still trying to figure out what happened, but I think it might have to something to do with the solvent I split while trying to pour it into a flask and maybe I got some onto my jeans without realising it. Which reminds me of the time a few years ago when I split some solvent (a different one) and did get it on my khaki pants and it turned purple. The solvent evaporated within 15/20 minutes and the colour went away, but that was after 15/20 minutes of me freaking out and trying to figure out a way to get rid of the stain and/or pants.....uuhhhmmm, good times.

Anyways....that was a lot longer then I had planned, so sorry for all the rambling and random tangents.

Peace out!
